The LIFEPACs cover grammar, spelling, composition, literature, and practical application. These may be repetitive on grammar or other skills that have been mastered previously, but you can choose the LIFEPACs that meet your child's needs by examining the scope and sequence from Alpha Omega that describes the content of each LIFEPAC before you buy.

Ninth grade level includes study of the play, The Miracle Worker, and the novel, Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea. Tenth grade level studies In His Steps; eleventh grade level studies the play, Our Town, and the novel The Old Man and the Sea; and twelfth grade level studies Hamlet. These novels and plays are included in the boxed set for each level along with the teacher manual and student LIFEPACs.

It would be possible to use only the single LIFEPACs which cover each literary work without using the entire curriculum, but answer keys and teachers guides are designed to cover more than one LIFEPAC, making it a bit more complicated to use in this way. It would be easier to use the entire curriculum, skipping previously mastered material. The high school language arts material from Alpha Omega is one of the publisher's strongest areas. Homeschoolers generally have had quite favorable experience with it.
