Originally, School of Tomorrow had only PACEs for these courses—ten PACEs per course. The DVD's now present the lesson material, doing a much better job than the PACEs by themselves. DVD's also help students work independently, a must for some homeschoolers. Even more helpful is the Interactive Media version of the course, available only for Algebra 1 at this time. The IM course integrates DVD presenations with PACE content on computer CD's that will run on Windows 95 or higher computer systems. A Course Count Disk is required for the IM course.

The DVD presentations are professional, with clear explanations of algebraic concepts, better than those in most textbooks. Students learn concepts from DVD's, then do exercises in PACEs. Dialogue on the DVD's corresponds to text in the PACEs.

The scope and sequence of School of Tomorrow's algebra courses is slightly slower than most others. This factor, combined with the easy-to-understand presentations, should make learning algebra possible for many more students. The slower scope and sequence is not a major problem, but rather something to be aware of when going on to another publisher's material.

The methodology is very traditional; for example, courses begin with definitions and vocabulary to be memorized, probably the most boring part of each course. Even though the methodology lacks excitement, the courses gets high ratings for doing a solid job with a challenging subject. Short character sketches add both a biblical base and interest..
