These books contain timed reading exercises to be used at fourth, fifth, and sixth grade levels. The goal is to improve reading speed and comprehension. Each reading is followed by a comprehension quiz. The emphasis is primarily on simple recall rather than on higher levels of thinking. However, it seems that in the sixth grade book some questions do require students to understand inferences and draw some conclusions.
