The Deadliest Monster
Jeff Baldwin uses a more literary approach than anyone else for this "primer" on worldviews. Using the mythical stories of Frankenstein and Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, he reveals a worldview-based dichotomy between Frankenstein and Mr. Hyde. Frankenstein represents worldviews that are essentially humanist and/or atheist. People are basically good, and problems are the fault of society rather than individuals. Frankenstein did evil only when forced to by society. Hyde, on the other hand, represents worldviews that recognize the inherent sinfulness of man, the importance of individuals, and the value of selflessness. Baldwin uses this analogy to make life applications—how do we understand other people with conflicting worldviews, how do we act, how do we apply our Christian beliefs. This is a thought-provoking presentation made more interesting because of the underlying analogy. (For mature teens and adults.)
